Chad Heinrich

Born July 3, 1981, in Calgary, Canada, Alberta, Chad moved to Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 13 and still resides there.  A self taught artist, while growing up he followed the artistic works of such comic greats as Todd McFarlane and Jim Lee. Once introduced to the works of Greg Capullo, he became completely enamored with the dark high contrast style that he still uses today.

Chad's greatest inspirations come from Capullo's runs on the Spawn comic book and The Creech.  Music is his other source of inspiration, as you will rarely see him drawing without either his headphones on or the stereo blaring.  He pulls from a wide variety of artists, from Tupac Shakur, to Maynard James Keenan, to Sarah McLachlan (insert joke here _________________).

Working with Travis Legge and J. Wade Webb, he has finally developed his own character Detresse, and is currently working to see her published.

Travis Legge

Travis Legge is a writer, father, and game developer. Born in Mauston Wisconsin during the tail end of disco, he spent his early childhood doing a lot of reading (what the hell else is there to do in Mauston, Wisconsin). At age 13, he moved to Rockford, Illinois to live with his father, following the divorce of his parents. He now lives in Loves Park, IL with two of his three offspring (though the third comes over a lot). Travis has wanted to write comics since reading the “Daredevil/Punisher: Child’s Play” storyline by Frank Miller at age 8 (or was it 9? lousy memory...). Travis’s published works include several Contagion sourcebooks (including Adoration of the Magi, Divine and Infernal, Contagion Revised Edition, and Contagion: War Stories) The Sorrow (benefiting the National Association to Protect Children www.protect.org). Travis’s other comic work includes Corpus Christie and the Cape Girls as well as Reckoning; both available for free download at www.wowio.com.

Travis considers himself extremely lucky to be working with Chad and Wade on Detresse. He’s developed the utmost respect for his co-conspirators and cannot wait to help them craft Jayden’s story and share it with the readers!  As a fan of Detresse, Travis is honored to have a role in this amazing comic!

J. Wade Webb

A self taught artist, Wade has dabbled in all types of styles and media.

In the early 1990's he was asked to letter a couple of books for Comic Creations for the book T.A.Z.E.R., which then morphed into him lettering, coloring (with markers and colored pencils), and writing subsequent issues, including working on the (unreleased) books Sonny Beach (lettering, coloring, writing) and Crazy Bear (lettering, coloring).

In 1994 Wade was introduced to Photoshop. In 1996 he began contributing artwork, a logo, and digital coloring for the website New Found Legends (www.newfoundlegends.com, now defunct), a site dedicated to writers and artists of fantasy and superhero genres. He subsequently dropped out of the comics scene for a while, concentrating his time on design, both web and non-web related, for local businesses.

In 2004/2005, Wade became involved with Uncanny Inspirado, an art show dealing with non-traditional, "low-brow" artwork from local artists. This helped to push him back into art in general, which eventually re-kindled his interests in comic art. Using the internet, he posted his digital colorings of fellow artists' linework. Doing so lead him into coloring covers for Night Phoenix Press and Artistic License Studios.

These digital postings eventually lead him to Chad. Wade had thought the Detresse interesting, and persuaded Chad to let him color a page from the comic book. This would then lead to coloring the cover, then designing the logo, then designing the website, then...

Wade currently resides in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
